Dr. Juan Roberto Iglesias

After graduating from Université de Sherbrooke in medicine and receiving his Master’s degree in science (Cellular Biology), Dr. Juan Roberto Iglesias pursued post-doctoral studies in epidemiology at McGill University. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Institut national d'excellence en santé et services sociaux (INESSS), formerly known as the Agence d’évaluation des technologies et des modes d’intervention en santé (AETMIS). He has extensive experience in the health and social services sectors, as well as in public administration. Dr. Iglesias has held various positions, including Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Health and Cross-Sectoral Coordination (1989 to1993), and Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services (2003 to2006). He served as Chair of the Conseil médical du Québec and Assistant Dean of Clinical Sciences in the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Medicine, before holding a full professorship at Université de Sherbrooke and practising family medicine at the Farnham centre local de services communautaires.
