Liaison Activities

In general, Liaison Officers work to enhance stakeholders’ awareness and use of CADTH’s programs, products, and services in efforts to promote evidence-based health technology decision making. Specific activities undertaken by CADTH Liaison Officers are geared to the unique needs and requests of their stakeholders and, therefore, may vary considerably from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. These activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Offering introductory presentations to and meetings with health ministry staff, senior and program management groups at regional and district health authorities and Local Health Integration Networks, and senior management and clinical practice leaders at hospitals and other health care facilities
  • Organizing, delivering, and/or facilitating workshops on topics ranging from overviews of health technology assessment and evidence-based decision making to specific health technology topics relevant to the jurisdiction
  • Collaborating with appropriate partners on the design and/or delivery of health-technology-related workshops and education sessions
  • Delivering informative sessions for students in the health professions and health services management programs
  • Providing relevant articles about CADTH reports, services, or events to publications distributed to health care practitioners and health systems management professionals
  • Organizing CADTH exhibits at local and regional conferences and meetings
  • Identifying local health technology issues, priorities, and information needs
  • Facilitating requests for evidence through CADTH’s Health Technology Inquiry Service (HTIS)
  • Disseminating evidence-based materials from CADTH and other agencies to relevant audiences within the jurisdictions
  •  Identifying local expertise and resources to support CADTH programs and activities
  • Providing client feedback to CADTH for product and/or service enhancement and improvement
  • Encouraging and supporting the submission of topics for potential review, assessment, or product development (e.g., health technology assessment topics)
  • Providing opportunities for networking and information sharing in and between jurisdictions.
