Award of Excellence in Health Technology Assessment

The Award
The Dr. Jill M. Sanders Award of Excellence in HTA recognizes and celebrates individuals whose outstanding achievements have significantly advanced the field of health technology assessment in Canada. The winner of this award will receive a plaque, paid travel and accommodation, and complimentary registration to attend and speak at the 2011 CADTH Symposium being held in Vancouver from April 3 to 5, 2011.

Eligibility
The award is open to individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to health technology assessment, evidence-based drug reviews, or optimal technology utilization in Canada.

This award can be given posthumously. Employees of CADTH are not eligible for this award. Eligible contributions include but are not limited to:

  • Improving the science and methodology of health technology assessment and related fields
  • Producing a significant body of evidence-based analysis and advice that has contributed to the quality and sustainability of Canada’s health system and the health of Canadians
  • Championing the uptake and use of evidence-based information about health technologies in policy, and administrative and clinical decision-making.

Nomination Process

Any Canadian or Canadian resident can submit a nomination. To submit a nomination, forward the following by email to symposium@cadth.ca:

  • A nominating letter summarizing the curriculum vitae and highlighting the accomplishments that are relevant to the award
  • Two supporting letters
  • The nominee’s curriculum vitae.

Nominations must be received by Friday, January 14 2011
