Student Travel Awards Program Criteria

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  1. Be registered as a full-time student at a Canadian University or College
  2. Submit a letter of recommendation from their professor

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  1. Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the 2010 CADTH Symposium
  2. Submitted an abstract to the 2010 CADTH Symposium
  3. Study in a field relevant to CADTH’s work
  4. Have not previously received a Travel Award from CADTH (including previous years Student Travel Awards)

Deadline for applications:  December 15, 2010

Eligible Expenses include:

  1. Airfare, train, bus or private vehicle
  2. Accommodation
  3. Incidentals including Taxis or Parking
  4. Symposium Registration to a maximum of the Early Registration rate for the applicant’s category
  5. Workshop fees to a maximum of $200

Requests for Travel Awards must contain:

  1. Declaration of educational status
  2. Brief summary of research interests and accomplishments
  3.  Description of anticipated benefits from attending the Symposium
  4. Estimate of expenses
  5. Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s professor/advisor

The maximum allowable Travel Award is $1,500. CADTH may elect to award only a portion of the funding requested dependent on factors such as the number of requests for Travel Awards received and a review of estimated costs. CADTH may not be able to fund all requests.
