CADTH Issues Request for Proposals for Partners in Health Technology Assessment (PIHTA)

October 26, 2006

The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) is an independent agency funded by Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial governments to provide health care decision makers with credible, impartial advice and information about the effectiveness and efficiency of drugs and other health technologies. Unlike regulators who determine which technologies can be used in Canada, CADTH supports decision makers who are exploring what technologies should be used to achieve the best outcomes, both on patient health and the health care system.

CADTH is seeking formal proposals for Partners in Health Technology Assessment (PIHTA) as a follow on to the successful solicitation of Expressions of Interest (EoI) undertaken in August of this year.

CADTH will establish long-term partnership arrangements (an initial three years with options for extension) with two or more health technology assessment (HTA) providers who can meet CADTH’s demanding experience and expertise requirements.

CADTH will continue to provide opportunities for other agencies and research organizations to work with CADTH in undertaking HTAs through its topic-based request for proposal process.

For further information on the qualification and selection process, please contact CADTH at contracts@cadth.ca
