CADTH invites membership applications for the Health Technology Analysis Exchange (the Exchange)
January 22, 2007
The Health Technology Analysis Exchange (the Exchange), a network of Health Technology Assessment producers, is being established in accordance with Canada’s Health Technology Strategy (HTS 1.0). HTS 1.0 was approved by the federal, provincial and territorial (F/P/T) Conference of Deputy Ministers in June 2005. The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) will serve as the Secretariat for the Exchange.
As a forum for producers of health technology assessment and policy analysis information, the Exchange will support information sharing, reduce duplication of effort, and facilitate continuous quality improvements in the production and use of evidence-based information. Complete details of the Exchange are provided in the Terms of Reference.
Membership in the Exchange is voluntary and is open to any organization that meets the following criteria:
- Conducts assessments of technology in health care
- Is a non-profit organization.
- Is related to a F/P/T body (e.g. health ministry, regional health authority, hospital)
- Is funded by public sources
- Provides free access to its reports upon request.
If you feel your organization meets these criteria, I would encourage you to submit the application form to CADTH by February 2, 2007. Exchange Members will be appointed in February 2007 following a review of the application information.
An initial meeting of the Exchange is being planned for the first quarter of 2007. CADTH will cover all reasonable expenses associated with the participation of Member Organizations at this and subsequent meetings.
