CADTH is inviting nominations for a Core Member position on the COMPUS Expert Review Committee (CERC)
March 06, 2009
Call for Nominations
The Nominating Committee for the COMPUS Expert Review Committee (CERC) is accepting nominations for Core Members. CERC is an independent advisory body that makes recommendations related to the identification, evaluation, and promotion of optimal drug prescribing and use in Canada.
Qualifications Required for Core Members of CERC
We are seeking nominations to fill one position with an individual who is qualified as a physician (General Practitioner), as outlined in section 4.1(a) of the CERC Terms of Reference.
Who Can Nominate Core Members?
Federal, provincial, and territorial jurisdictions, relevant health professional bodies, individual health and other professionals, the general public and the CERC Nominating Committee may nominate CERC members as set out in the CERC Terms of Reference.
If you know of an individual who has the qualifications we seek, we invite you to submit a nomination.
Nomination Materials and Instructions
The following materials and instructions should be used to assist in the nomination of membership candidates:
- Letter to Nominees – This letter provides information on CERC, nomination requirements and the selection process for members.
- CERC Terms of Reference
- Conflict of Interest Guidelines – The Conflict of Interest Guidelines contain disclosure forms that nominees are required to complete and return to their nominator, or to the COMPUS Directorate. Full disclosure is required from all nominees.
- Code of Conduct
- Letter of Acceptance from Nominees – Each nominee must sign and return this letter.
Given that CERC meets frequently throughout the year and that background material will be circulated to members for consideration prior to each meeting, nominees should be advised of the time commitment involved. This is described more fully in the Letter to Nominees. An honorarium is paid to CERC members for their preparation and meeting time.
The following materials must be submitted in support of CERC nominations:
- nominee’s curriculum vitae
- a short summary of the nominee’s qualifications
- completed and signed conflict of interest forms
- a letter of acceptance, signed by the nominee
- a short rationale supporting the nomination provided by you or your organization.
Nomination packages must be submitted to CADTH through the COMPUS Directorate, either directly by the nominator or by the nominee, no later than Thursday, March 26, 2009, to the attention of Denis Bélanger via:
