Board Announcement: President and CEO Appointment

The Board of Directors of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies and Health (CADTH), today confirmed that Dr. Brian O’Rourke will continue his duties with the organization as the interim President and CEO. This appointment is for a period of one year.
Brian O’Rourke had been serving as Acting President and CEO of CADTH since September 15, 2009.
“For the past six months, Brian has demonstrated tremendous leadership guiding the agency by ensuring the delivery of high quality products and services that have a measurable and positive impact on the sustainability of the Canadian health care system,” said Lauren Donnelly, the Chair of CADTH’s Board of Directors.
Brian O’Rourke joined CADTH in January 2009 as Vice-President of the Common Drug Review following a distinguished career as a Pharmacist and Health Services Operations Officer with the Canadian Forces.
“The Board is confident that under Brian’s leadership, CADTH will continue to evolve and build upon two decades of success as a value for money organization that is well-positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Donnelly.
The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health is an independent, not-for-profit agency funded by Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial governments to provide credible, impartial advice and evidence-based information about the effectiveness of drugs and other health technologies to Canadian health care decision-makers.
