In many jurisdictions, health technology assessment has become 'hard-wired' into reimbursement decisions for drugs, devices and other health technologies. Given the significance of these decisions, it is important to establish some principles of good practice and to assess whether these are followed in different jurisdictions. This presentation describes one such attempt to 'benchmark' HTA organizations and the issues that this raises.
