Call for Feedback on Blood Glucose Test Strip Reports

The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH), through its COMPUS program, invites all interested parties to provide feedback on its two latest draft reports under the diabetes management priority area:

Draft Systematic Review of the Use of Blood Glucose Test Strips for the Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus

The goal of the systematic review is to identify and synthesize the available clinical evidence on the efficacy and safety of self-monitoring of blood glucose in patients with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes.

Draft Cost-effectiveness of Blood Glucose Test Strips in the Management of Adult Patients with Diabetes

The objective of the economic assessment is to establish the cost-effectiveness of self-monitoring of blood glucose using blood glucose test strips by adult patients with diabetes.

CADTH is seeking your feedback on the data, analysis, interpretation, methods, and limitations used to develop these reports. The final reports will provide the detailed clinical and economic evidence used in the development of COMPUS Optimal Therapy Recommendations on Blood Glucose Test Strips.

To provide your input, please log in here to access step-by-step instructions and the online feedback forms. The deadline to provide feedback is Wednesday, March 4, 2009.

Opportunity to Claim Continuing Medical Education Credits

COMPUS would like to remind members of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons that providing feedback on COMPUS reports qualifies for Continuing Medical Education credits. Pharmacists should contact their provincial pharmacy college to inquire if this non-accredited educational activity can be recognized as part of individual learning objectives. Find out more.
