The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health is pleased to announce the Student Travel Awards Program for the 2010 CADTH Symposium being held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from April 18-20, 2010.
The purpose of the program is to encourage participation at the CADTH Symposium by funding travel and other related costs individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend. Since 2007, CADTH has supported the participation of 46 participants through awards totalling more than $54,000.
Applications will be accepted from full-time undergraduate or graduate students at degree granting institutions in Canada. The individuals must be either taking courses in an area relevant to CADTH’s work.
The recipients of Student Travel Awards will be decided by a committee chaired by Peter Chinneck, Symposium Moderator. Funding decisions will be based as much as possible on the financial needs expressed by the individual in the application and on what the individual may get from and bring to the conference. The maximum award is $1,500.00.
Recipients are required to book their own travel and accommodation. Online registration for the symposium must also be completed by the recipients.
Individuals who receive an award must submit a report to CADTH after the Symposium outlining the benefits they received and identifying ways to improve the Symposium. The final date for submission of the post symposium report is May 31, 2010
