Health Technology Update

Informing decision makers about emerging medical technologies, upcoming policies and practices, and research on the horizon

Health Technology Update is a source of information for those involved in planning and providing health care in Canada. Produced twice a year by the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH), the newsletter presents articles about new and emerging medical drugs, devices, procedures, and health systems to support health care decisions and policy making at the local, regional, provincial, and national levels. The information contained in this newsletter is based on a limited literature review and should not be construed as a recommendation for or against the use of a particular health technology. Readers should also be aware that a lack of good quality evidence to support effectiveness does not necessarily mean a lack of effectiveness, particularly in the case of new and emerging technologies.

Production of this newsletter is made possible by a financial contribution from Health Canada and the governments of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. CADTH takes sole responsibility for the final form and content of this newsletter. The statements, conclusions, and views expressed in this newsletter do not necessarily represent the view of Health Canada or any provincial or territorial government.
