CADTH is seeking one hospital representative and one health authority representative to serve on its Drug Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC).
Composed of jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional members, DPAC provides strategic advice to CADTH on drug policy issues and other drug-related topics. It provides guidance that considers the outputs and impact of CADTH’s work in meeting the needs of federal, provincial, and territorial governments and those working in the Canadian health care system.
The following information may help when considering whether to let your name stand for nomination to DPAC.
Qualifications and Eligibility
The DPAC hospital representative and health authority representative are considered “non-jurisdictional” committee members. Non-jurisdictional members bring the perspective and knowledge base of the group or sector in which they serve, but they do not represent any specific interest, group, or organization.
Nominee must have current experience either working for a hospital or regional health authority in Canada, experience with issues related to the delivery of pharmaceuticals and health care services; knowledge of regional, provincial, territorial, and/or international health care issues, particularly pharmaceutical-related; knowledge of, or interest in, issues relevant to CADTH’s mandate and the mandate of the committee; and experience in committee and/or community work.
More details are available in the Role Description document.
Each calendar year, DPAC holds at least four scheduled meetings, two of which are in-person meetings that are usually held in Ottawa.
Non-jurisdictional members may receive an honorarium in accordance with CADTH policy. Expenses are reimbursed in accordance with CADTH policy.
Term of Appointment
DPAC members are appointed for a term of two years. Terms may be renewed once, at the discretion of CADTH’s President and CEO.
