CADTH is seeking nominations for 1 chair; 2 methodologist, applied researcher, and/or data analyst members; 2 clinicians and 2 patient members for the new CADTH Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) Advisory Committee. As part of the PMDE Program, the Advisory Committee will provide advice on complex queries and on current and emerging methods to address PMDE needs and identify potential specialized experts as needed. The Advisory Committee will also identify and support opportunities for patient engagement in the program and promote the PMDE work of the program.
If you have significant expertise in the Canadian health care system, are knowledgeable on the topic of PMDE and/or real-world evidence, are interested in helping support health care decision-makers in making informed choices about the safety and effectiveness of post-market drugs, and are passionate about ensuring that the Canadian health care system is the best it can be, we encourage you to apply.
The following information may be helpful when considering whether to let your name stand for nomination to the PMDE Advisory Committee.
The chair of the PMDE Advisory Committee must be an expert in the field of PMDE or real-world evidence of drugs. The chair must also have experience chairing committees or panels and demonstrate leadership qualities and a strong commitment to advancing PMDE in Canada. A PMDE Advisory Committee applied researcher, methodologist, and data analyst positions must have a background in at least 1 of these respective areas or other health-related professionals with knowledge in PMDE or real-world evidence, reimbursement policy, and the drug evaluation pipeline. In addition, an expert member will bring experience in critical appraisal and evidence-based medicine.
The PMDE Advisory Committee clinician members represent clinicians’ interests. They have experience or knowledge of post-market drug evaluation and reimbursement policy. Ideally, the clinician members have experience working on committees.
The PMDE Advisory Committee patient members represent patients’ interests. They have experience as a patient or caregiver and demonstrated interest in issues related to health care at the community, regional, or national level. Ideally, the patient members have some experience working on committees.

The Advisory Committee will meet on a quarterly basis. The time commitment is approximately 1 day to 2 days every 3 months, which includes time preparing for and participating in PMDE Advisory Committee meetings.
Members are eligible to receive an honorarium in accordance with the CADTH remuneration policy. Refer to the PMDE Advisory Committee chair and member role descriptions for more information. Expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with CADTH policy.
PMDE Advisory Committee members are appointed for a term of 3 years. Terms may be renewed once at the discretion of CADTH’s President and CEO.

Nominations must be received no later than Monday, April 25, 2022. All nominees will receive a confirmation of receipt email by Friday, May 6, 2022. CADTH thanks all nominees for their interest; however, only those under further consideration in the nomination process will be contacted personally by email. All nominees will receive an email notification once the process concludes, which is expected to be no later than July 29, 2022.
