2022 Call for Nominations: Expert and Advisory Committees

CADTH is seeking nominations for its expert and advisory committees. If you have significant expertise in the Canadian health care system, are interested in helping support health care decision-makers in making informed choices about health technologies, and are passionate about ensuring that the Canadian health care system is the best it can be, we encourage you to apply.
CADTH is an independent, not-for-profit organization responsible for providing Canada’s health care decision-makers with objective evidence to help make informed decisions about the optimal use of drugs and medical devices in our health care system. CADTH receives funding from Canada’s federal, provincial, and territorial governments, with the exception of Quebec.
Nominations must be submitted via our online form and received by Monday, April 25, 2022.

CADTH is seeking nominations for the following positions:
CADTH Canadian Drug Expert Committee
The CADTH Canadian Drug Expert Committee (CDEC) provides expert advice and makes drug reimbursement and optimal use recommendations through the CADTH Common Drug Review and Therapeutic Review processes.
We are seeking
- 1 patient member.
CADTH Health Technology Expert Review Panel
The CADTH Health Technology Expert Review Panel (HTERP) develops recommendations for CADTH projects related to diagnostic tests and medical, dental, and surgical devices and procedures.
We are seeking
- 1 ethicist member
- 1 economist member.
CADTH Patient and Community Advisory Committee
The Patient and Community Advisory Committee (PCAC) comprises of individuals with lived experience with the Canadian health care system and who are familiar with issues in health care in Canada. PCAC provides CADTH with advice on issues relevant to its mandate from the perspective of those using the Canadian health care system.
We are seeking
- 4 patient members.
CADTH Device Advisory Committee
The CADTH Device Advisory Committee (DAC) provides advice to CADTH about health system issues and decision points in which evidence could enable better management of medical devices (defined as medical devices, clinical interventions, diagnostic tests, and medical, dental, and surgical procedures).
We are seeking
- 1 chair
- 1 procurement professional member.
CADTH Post-Market Drug Evaluation Advisory Committee
As part of the CADTH Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) Program, the Advisory Committee will advise on complex queries, advising on current and emerging methods to address PMDE needs and identifying potential specialized experts as needed. The committee will also identify and support opportunities for patient engagement in the program and promote the PMDE work of the program.
We are seeking
- 1 chair
- 2 clinician members
- 2 methodologist, applied researcher, and/or data analyst members
- 2 patient members.
Who Can Submit a Nomination?
Nominations may be submitted by individuals from federal, provincial, and territorial jurisdictions, including:
- federal departments providing health services
- provincial and territorial health ministries
- regional health authorities and local health integration networks including their constituent acute care centres, hospitals, and long-term care facilities
- other health-related groups funded by provincial and territorial ministries, including cancer agencies, transplant agencies, and public health groups
- representatives from organizations that represent health professionals
- health and allied health professionals
- for the patient member positions, patients and/or family caregivers with extensive experience of the Canadian health care system.
Nominations may be submitted on a candidate’s behalf or interested candidates may nominate themselves.
