The Canadian Standards Association (or CSA Group) is seeking feedback on two new draft standards. To review and post comments, please visit its respective pages on the CSA Group Public Review site. A one-time registration is required if you have not been to the site before:

• CSA Z317.12 Cleaning and disinfection of health care facilities, applicable to health care facilities that include both in-patient and outpatient services, and others. Review before August 21, 2019.
• CSA Z325 Hip protectors identifies the requirements for testing and labelling hip protectors, which help to mitigate the risks of falling and fracturing a hip. Review before September 5, 2019.

Drug Reimbursement Recommendations

CADTH recently issued the following CADTH Canadian Drug Expert Committee (CDEC) drug reimbursement recommendations:

• telotristat (Xermelo) for carcinoid syndrome
• cysteamine (Cystadrops) for corneal cystine crystal deposits
• latanoprostene bunod (Vyzulta) for open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension
• patisiran (Onpattro) for polyneuropathy in hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis
• ulipristal acetate (Fibristal) for uterine fibroids (signs and symptoms).

CADTH recently issued the following CADTH pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review (pCODR) Expert Review Committee (pERC) drug reimbursement recommendations:

• Revlimid (lenalidomide) in-combo bortezomib + dexamethasone for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma
•  Verzenio (abemaciclib) for advanced or metastatic breast cancer
•  Ninlaro (ixazomib) for multiple myeloma (second-line or beyond).
