Stakeholder feedback on the Guidelines for the Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies

CADTH is in the process of updating the third edition of the Guidelines for the Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies: Canada.

In December 2015, as part of our ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts, we invited feedback on the current edition of the Guidelines. Specifically, we asked which areas stakeholders thought were the most useful, needed to be updated, and should not change.

We were extremely pleased to receive responses from 20 unique stakeholders, representing academic institutions, consulting companies, federal and provincial governments, health technology assessment organizations, patient groups, and pharmaceutical/device companies.

The majority of the feedback was related to areas of the Guidelines that need to be updated. We also received suggestions for special guidance for oncology drugs and drugs for rare diseases.

We have consolidated the feedback and it will be reviewed and considered by CADTH and the Health Economics Working Group as we continue to update the Guidelines.

We would like to thank everyone who responded to our request for feedback.
