Cathy McIntyre

Cathy McIntyre is a senior executive with more than 30 years of business and board experience. A marketing and communications professional, her background includes marketing management, and communications and research experience in the business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and not-for-profit sectors. She began her career in consumer packaged goods brand management and worked for several multinational marketing communications firms.  After spending a number of years in marketing and sales management in the newspaper industry, Cathy founded Strategic Initiatives, a marketing research firm.

A Chartered Director (CDir), Cathy sits on the boards of Peninsula Co-Op, the Victoria Hospitals Foundation, the Arthritis Society of Canada, and the University of Victoria.  She is a Past-Chair of the Board of the United Way of Greater Victoria, a former Director of the United Way of Canada and the Certified Management Accountants Society of British Columbia, and is a Past-President of the University of Victoria Alumni Association. Cathy holds an MBA from the University of Victoria and the Certified Marketing Research Professional (CMRP) designation awarded by the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Business and at Royal Roads University. Cathy has received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and was named one of the University of Victoria’s 50 “Alumni Who Make a Difference.”
