Key Message

One overview of systematic reviews and two non-randomized studies were identified regarding the clinical effectiveness of seasonal influenza immunization of health care workers to prevent the spread of influenza to patients. Two of the non-randomized studies were in favour of the use of influenza vaccine, while the overview of systematic reviews reported conflicting results. More research needs to be conducted in order to support or oppose the use of the influenza vaccination in health care workers to prevent the spread of influenza to patients.
