CADTH Webinar: How COVID-19 Is Changing the Evidence Landscape: October 20, 2020

You can still register for this no-cost special webinar marking the inaugural World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day. Speakers include Dr. Christopher McCabe (Executive Director and CEO, Institute of Health Economics); Anne Hayes (Director, Research, Analysis and Evaluation Branch, Ontario Ministry of Health and Co-Chair of the Evidence Synthesis Network, and Member of the COVID-19 Advisory for Ontario Science Table); and Dr. Nicole Mittmann (CADTH Chief Scientist and Vice-President, Evidence Standards).

CADTH Webinar: Open Science — COVID-19 and Beyond: October 27, 2020

There is still time to register for this no-cost talk about the many scientific publishing shifts happening in connection with the pandemic. Speakers include Leslie Weir (Librarian and Archivist of Canada; Chair, Open Science Roadmap Advisory Committee) and Dr. Margaret Sampson (Manager of Library Services, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario).

Ongoing Trials for Drugs in the Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19

  • This report provides information on ongoing randomized controlled trials of drugs being investigated to treat or prevent COVID-19.
  • It will be updated every two weeks.
  • Ongoing trials of vaccines and plasma-based therapies are addressed in separate CADTH reports.

  • WHO Solidarity Trial: Remdesivir, Lopinavir/Ritonavir, Hydroxychloroquine, Interferon Beta-1a
    On October 15, 2020, interim study results from WHO’s Solidarity Trial were released in pre-print (ISRCTN83971151).
  • Baricitinib
    On October 8, 2020, preliminary results of the Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial (ACTT-2), sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for the treatment of COVID-19, were released.
  • Lopinavir-ritonavir
    On October 5, 2020, the results of the lopinavir-ritonavir arm of the Randomised Evaluation of COVID-19 Therapy (RECOVERY) trial were published.
