CADTH Launches Technology Trends to Watch Survey

September 17, 2021

CADTH has launched a survey to explore which new or emerging health technologies or trends could impact Canada’s health care system over the next 2 to 3 years.

The results of the survey will create awareness of potentially important and transformative health technologies and help prepare decision-makers to anticipate upcoming trends. Results of the survey will form the basis for a CADTH 2022 Health Technology Trends to Watch report to be published early next year.

Earlier this year, CADTH released its “watch” list of emerging health technology trends and devices for 2021. The list covers a range of technologies relevant to different conditions, models of health care delivery, and tools used to improve patient care.

The current survey and the 2022 Health Technology Trends to Watch report are part of the horizon scanning work that CADTH undertakes to monitor health information sources to identify promising technologies not yet widely used in the Canadian health care system. The resulting report will summarize the identified emerging or new technologies, including information about what makes these technologies promising and what is needed to support their development and implementation.

CADTH is looking for survey responses from a broad spectrum of interested parties, including health care providers, researchers, clinical experts, administrators, innovators, patients and caregivers, advocacy groups, and technology designers and manufacturers living in Canada.

The survey is available in both official languages and will be available for completion until Friday, October 8, 2021.
