Chronic pain affects approximately 1 in 5 adults in Canada, and it is defined as pain lasting longer than 3 months. In 2021, CADTH completed an Environmental Scan on Models of Care for Chronic Pain. One of the models of care described in the Environmental Scan was the Stepped Care model.
The objectives of this project are to:
- identify and summarize literature on the potential benefits and harms of stepped care models for chronic pain
- identify and summarize literature on the potential cost implications of stepped care models for chronic pain
