2023 CADTH Symposium

Event date: Tuesday, May 16 to Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Join Canadian and international health technology experts from Tuesday, May 16 to Thursday, May 18, 2023, for the return of the CADTH Symposium.

The Symposium will be held on May 16, 17, and 18, 2023 as a 3-day hybrid event that will provide both in-person and virtual attendance options. The in-person program will take place at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

The CADTH Symposium has a well-earned reputation as a “must attend” event for anyone with an interest in the assessment, adoption, and management of drugs and medical devices. After 15 years as an in-person event, the Symposium successfully shifted to a virtual format in 2020 and 2021 to protect the health and safety of attendees, presenters, and staff, and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. More than 2,000 delegates and presenters participated online from across Canada and beyond, including health researchers; health economists; senior leaders from government, regional health authorities, hospitals, and other facilities; clinicians and patients; students; and industry representatives.

The theme is Shaping Future-Ready Health Systems. Topics relevant to this theme include, but are not limited to:

  • collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • advancing transparency in HTA
  • equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • maximizing the impact of HTA
  • horizon scanning and early HTA
  • lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic
  • HTA methods
  • trends in health economics
  • the latest information on digital health and artificial intelligence, mental health, and other key topics
  • optimizing the use of real-world evidence
  • HTA as an enabler of innovation
  • understanding and integrating the knowledge, history, and perspectives of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples
  • HTA’s role in addressing climate change
  • enhanced collaboration between the regulatory and reimbursement environments
  • implementation support to enhance adoption of HTA advice and recommendations
