CADTH 2018-2021 Strategic Plan

Today at the 2018 CADTH Symposium in Halifax, Dr. Brian O’Rourke, CADTH President and CEO, released the CADTH 2018-2021 Strategic Plan. The full plan, as well as a one-page summary, is available now on the CADTH website.

Entitled, Transforming How We Manage Health Technologies in Support of Better Health, Better Patient Experience, and Better Value, the CADTH 2018-2021 Strategic Plan charts a bold new direction for the organization. In addition to a new corporate mission and vision, the Strategic Plan outlines how CADTH will transition from a health technology assessment organization to a health technology management organization, guided by three strategic goals:

  • Working to close the gap between evidence, policy, and practice.
  • Adopting a life-cycle approach to health technology assessment.
  • Anticipating health system and technology trends and developing agile management strategies.

CADTH is passionately committed to delivering credible scientific evidence and management strategies that enable the appropriate use of health technologies, and helping ensure that Canada has a world-class system for assessing and managing health technologies to achieve better outcomes and value for Canadians.

The release of the CADTH 2018-2021 Strategic Plan is an exciting milestone for CADTH. It represents the next chapter of delivering on the promise of health technology management, and supporting the needs of Canada’s health care system.
