CADTH Appoints Dr. Harindra Wijeysundera as the New Vice-President, Medical Devices and Clinical Interventions

CADTH is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Harindra Wijeysundera as our new Vice-President of Medical Devices and Clinical Interventions.

Dr. Wijeysundera brings with him a tremendous amount of experience as both a practising physician and a scientist.

Dr. Wijeysundera is an interventional cardiologist and clinician scientist at the Schulich Heart Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and associate professor of medicine at the University of Toronto. He is also an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, and cross-appointed to the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Wijeysundera is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and subsequently did specialty training in internal medicine and adult cardiology at the University of Toronto. He also holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Wijeysundera’s appointment commences on August 1, 2017. He succeeds Dr. Tammy Clifford, who assumed her new role as Chief Scientist and Vice-President of Evidence Standards effective April 1, 2017.
