CADTH Lecture Series – Dr. Art Sedrakyan

Register by September 21st for the next lecture, which will be hosted by Dr. Art Sedrakyan, Professor of Healthcare Policy and Research in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Weill Cornell Medical College.

In the United States, 63% of all hospital stays — or more than 24 million hospital stays annually — involve the use of some type of procedure and related medical device. Of these, more than 15 million involve major operating-room procedures. Given these volumes, you’d think that the infrastructure to study the in-hospital and long-term outcomes of device use would be well developed, but in fact it is very limited. Join Dr. Art Sedrakyan, a leading authority in comparative effectiveness research, for an insightful lecture that will show how the use of international data resources and routinely available US data can support informed decisions about hospital procedures and interventions and encourage national investment in device/intervention evaluations.

The webinar will take place at 1:00 p.m. EDT on September 24, 2015 in Ottawa and online via webinar.
