Suzanne McGurn receives Public Sector Leadership Award from the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD)

We are thrilled to share that Suzanne McGurn, President and CEO, was presented with the Public Sector Leadership Award by the Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD). The award recognizes outstanding leadership and service as a public officer over multiple years across several agencies and is presented on behalf of the rare disease community in Canada.

Suzanne received the award at CORD’s Rare Disease Day Summit in Ottawa, an event that brings together patients and health system leaders to discuss a range of topics, including the National Strategy for Drugs for Rare Diseases. CADTH and other partners are supporting the strategy and working to improve the collection and use of real-world evidence to support decision-making, and patient registries.

“I’m extremely honoured to be recognized by the rare disease community with this award,” said Suzanne. “Patients are at the core of everything we do, and we’ve made considerable efforts over the past few years to expand how we engage with patients and incorporate their perspectives into our work in meaningful and impactful ways. Their involvement strengthens the quality and significance of our work, along with other partners, and I look forward to our continued work together.”
